Alberta NDP set to break the Tory Entitlement in Alberta

You would have thought Jim Prentice, would have been fair warned not to run an election after bringing in a budget that the regular electorate was not happy with. 59 new taxes (budget doocuments call them fees) all aimed at the regular citizen of Alberta, taking money from those who can least afford to pay them.  Bringing back Health Care fees, AND then telling everyone to look in the mirror, everyone except those that should be paying their fair share. Another reason would especially be the debacle between the Wildrose and the PC's when the leader of the Wildrose Danielle Smith and other members of the Wildrose crossed the floor to the open arms of Jim Prentice.

Move ahead to 2 days before the election and Team Prentice is backtracking, the blue supporters are threatening charities with little or no support, because the Alberta NDP have taken the lead in polls across the board and based on the fear mongering from Team Prentice, even the polls taken by the PC's.

It should have been no surprise that when you attack those that do the voting eventually you are going to get caught.  44 years of PC rule and they couldn't get it right and now they want an additional 10 years or 2 more terms in office to get it right, MAYBE.  There was no increase in corporate taxes, no increase in royalties paid when it is extracted.  Errors in even calculating how much is being extracted, it is apparent they have no idea what they are doing, as they have blown through a savings account that should have enough money in it to run the country let alone the province.

In 2012, it was the Wildrose party and Danielle Smith who posed a threat to the PC's and last minute juggling and fear mongering allowed them to be re-elected.  But in 2015 there is a difference, the PC's aren't in second, they are in third in the polls and not by a little by almost 20 points in some cases, with the Wildrose and the Alberta NDP ahead of them.  But according to the PC businessmen support team in Edmonton this is the worst of the Worst as the NDP will throw the province in to deficit and the jobs will leave and we won't support charities because our millions won't leave us much if they increase corporate taxes by 2%.

Rachel Notley Leader of the Alberta NDP

Enter the Alberta NDP, and their leader Rachel Notley,  with a campaign based on ensuring that Albertans don't have to wait for surgeries and medical treatment, that schools will have enough money to ensure class sizes don't explode, and teachers aren't burnt out.  Contrary to the PC policy asking schools to find 2.7% by decreasing their admin, and spending.  But not covering the additional 12000 students expected to enter into Alberta schools this year.

In the Leaders Debate held April 23rd, it was apparent when Jim Prentice turned his back on the Wildrose Leader Brian Jean and Liberal Leader David Swan that the Alberta NDP was the target as they were also the only other party with a full contingency of candidates.  But arrogance overcame Jim Prentice when on more than one occasion he called the leader of the Alberta NDP Notchly instead of Notley, and then criticised her by saying "I know Math is Hard" which became the social media Hashtag ( #mathishard).  At the end it was apparent that Rachel Notley scored a blow to the PC Campaign and the polls reiterated the statement putting the start of the NDP surge in place ahead of the PC's and social media exploded with statements on how well Notley did in the debate.

Move ahead and over the last week, Jim Prentice is treading water and could no longer think of what to do, so had to bring in Rona Ambrose , a federal PC MP, she turns around and says "I ask Albertans to really think twice and take a serious look at a party that wants to raise taxes on businesses. We need an Alberta government that is going to promote and advocate vociferously for the oil sector.”

Rona what about the electorate, without them there would be no Alberta.  The electorate is entitled to make its own decisions, and yes we are aware you are up for election this November, so it might be that you are scared that your post may not be safe.

Next call in the big business men, and what do they do, well that was hard for them because they couldn't attack on the basis of job losses, the NDP has a job creation policy.  They couldn't say they were leaving, they have way too much invested, so what is next "if you elect the NDP we will not be able to donate to charities like the Stollery Hospital".  All because of a 2% corporate tax increase.

But that also backfired and caused social media to light up with pictures of receipts from the electorate for donations made to the Stollery Hospital, thanks guys guess that backfired especially when it was released that you all donated to both the PC party and to Jim Prentice's leadership run, what is next? with only 2 days left until the vote comes in there isn't alot of time left Jim.

But then again based on the polls and the consistent increases in Alberta NDP positions, it is probably not going to do a lot at this point ..........

Knock Knock Jim,
who's there
Orange
Orange who?
Orange you glad you called an election Jim.....

Just in from today Sunday March 3, 2015 at the Edmonton Rally for the NDP

Crowd of 1300 at the NDP Rally in Edmnton
1300 Attend the Rally in Edmonton, there was no more room available in the hall and speakers were placed outside the hall so others could hear.

Alberta NDP Leader Rachel Notley in attendance, and along with the candidates from the Edmonton and surrounding areas, Rachel provided the type of leadership needed to help this province move forward, improving on the most important resource we have our children, our seniors and those who care for them.

The Alberta NDP Campaign slogan "Leadership for what matters" means what matters to the electorate, schooling, senior care, infrastructure, health care, and the future of Albertans.

It will be interesting to see how the next 2 days play out, but it wouldn't surprise me to see a surge of orange in the legislature on Wednesday.

And Jim the electorate is not falling for the games this time around.
